Alemseged Tesfai posts a “Thank you” note to all who have joined him celebrating the life of his son, Temesgen Alemseged Tesfai, on the tenth anniversary of Temesgen’s tragic passing (see the previous posting under this FB account timeline፡ also check it out on meskerem.net). Below is Alemseged’s note.
ኣለምሰገድ ተስፋይ፡ ንኹልና ኣብዚ ንመበል10ይ ዓመት ትራጀድያዊ ሞት ወዱ ዝወጸ ዝኽሪ ዝተሓወስናዮ ንኹን ነቶም ኣብዘን ዝሓለፋ ዓመታት ሓይልን ተስፋን ምትብባዕን ክትልግሱሉ ዝጸናሕኩም መቕርብን ፈተውትን ” የቐንየለይ፡ ሕሰም ኣይትርከቡ” እናበለ ናይ ምስጋና መልእኽቲ ሰዲዱልና ኣሎ። ዝቕጽል ድማ መልእኽቱ እዩ።

“ክቡራት ኣሕዋትን ኣሓትን ፈተውትን፡ ብስም ብዓልቲ ቤተይ ኣብርሀት ሃይለን ብስመይን፡ ነዚ ብFacebook ይኹን ብውልቂ ኽልገሰለይ ዝቐነየ ጽቡቕ ምንዮት ልባዊ ምስጋናይ አቕርብ። ንወዲ ሓብተይ ርእሶም ወልደዝጊ፡ ጓል ሓብተይ በይሉል ሶሎሞንን ንፈታውየይ/ዓርከይ ማሕሙድ ሳልሕን ድማ አመስግኖም፡፡ እዚ ዝኽሪ ናይ ስእነት ውላድና ተመስገን፡ ሓዘን ንኸነሐድስ ወይ ንኸይንርስዕ ዘይኮነስ፡ ኣብ ምዕራፍ ንብጽሑ እዩ ብወዲ ሓብተይ ተገይሩ። ሓቂ ይሓይሽ፡ ሞት ውላድ መዕጸዊ የብሉን፡፡ ደበስ፡ መጸናንዒ፡ ዕንጋሎ ግን፡ ሳላ’ቲ ወትሩ ዘይተፈለየና ሓልዮትኩምን፡ ምሉእ ሕብረተሰብ ዝለገሰልና ምስትንክራውን ኣሕዋይን ክንክንን ክንወጾ ኽኢልና። ስለዚ፡ እዚ ምስጋና እዩ’ምበር ሓዘን ኣይኮነን፡፡ ሞጎስ ንተመስገንን ነቲ ብሩህ ዝተዀልፈ መጻኢኡን’ምበር ንድሕሪት ናብ ቃንዛ ስእነቱ ዝመልስ ኣይኮነን። ሞትን ልደትን ብሓባር ከም ዝፍጠሩ ምዝካር ኩሉ ግዜ ጠቓሚ እዩ። ራህዋን መከራን ድማ ማናቱ እዮም። እቲ ዓቢ ብምስጢር፡ ንመከራ ብኸመይ ናብ ረብሓን ሓይልን ትቕይሮ፡ ንሞት ፍቑር ብኸመይ ናብ ሓይልን ጽንዓትን ተበርኾ ኣብ ዝብል ዓቢ ሕቶ ኢና ብዓልቲ ቤተይን ኣነን ብፈተውትና ተዓንጊልናን መገዲ ሕውየት ሒዝናን’ሞ ደጊመ ንቤተ ሰብ፡ ኣዕሩኽ፡ ኩሉኹም ፈተውቲ አመስግን።
Dear friends,
I have been reading with gratitude, the messages of good will posted on our son Temesgen’s commemorative posting. I have also been receiving phone calls and touching messages through other channels. This is, of course, not a revisit or a rekindling of the sorrows of having lost a brilliant child of great promise. It is, rather, a celebration of the joy of having had him and the inspiration that he has now become to his mother Abrehet and myself. Life and death come together. Adversity and life are inseparable. The secret is how to turn death of a loved one into inspiration and adversity into advantage. Our healing process would not have moved an inch had we not been lucky with the kind of genuine empathy and support that we received from our respective families, friends and the population at large. It is this aspect
of our societal values that this posting by my nephew, Russom Weldezghi also seeks to laud. I thank my neice Beylul Solomon and my friend Mahmud Saleh for helping in the dissemination of the tribute to family and friends. Thank you all.”
