The voice that infuriated many was not part of the actual video. Nevertheless, the message itself is not new. Therefore, I will leave the message as it is- the purported speech of the “guy” and my reaction to it.)

I’m bombarded with messages depicting a guy who advocates a federation or even a union with Ethiopia. In his speech, he defends Dawit Woldegiorgis’ proposal for the erection of a monument commemorating Ethiopian soldiers who had perished in Eritrea during our liberation war; he mischaracterizes the reasons why Eritreans fought for the liberation of their country and the nature of their struggle; he attacks Eritrean nationalism and so on.
He appears to be riding the confusion surrounding the rapprochement between the two countries. I wrote an article about this issue, it is still on my FB page and on meskerem.net. I also had an interview on Radio Erena, you can check it out on their page ( Thursday, January 10, 2019). The second part is coming this Thursday.
Well, this is to say that we will come across entities who exploit our weak links. Thanks for the sharing but I have had enough of it, please. Let’s move forward to make Eritrea better. We are moving forward, we are not returning to 1940s and 50s. The future of Eritrea is bright, but we need to narrow our differences and focus on what is most important.
